What is the New Evangelization?
By Daniel Schmude, new evangelist, May 12, 2025

The Evangelization of Christ
Evangelization is the act of evangelizing, that is, the act of bringing a message of good news to people. The evangelization of Christ is the act of bringing the Gospel of Christ to the unbaptized. The Gospel is that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Son of the living God (John 6:69), that the Christ died for our sins according to scripture (1Co. 15:3, Acts 8:26-35, Isa. 53:1-12), and that he rose from the dead on the third day according to scripture (1Co. 15:4, Acts 2:22-32, Psa. 16:8-10). The Gospel is good news, because those who believe it and are baptized will be saved from their sins (Mark 16:15-16). Only the unbaptized (or fallen away baptized) need to be evangelized. The reason why Jesus told his disciples to bring the Gospel to "every creature" (Mark 16:15) was because every creature was unbaptized at the time (or baptized only into John's baptism).

GO AND BRING
the GOSPEL to [the unbaptized];
WHOEVER BELIEVES AND
is baptized will be saved [from their sins],
BUT WHOEVER DOES NOT BELIEVE
will be condemned [for their sins].
Table 1- The Evangelization of Christ

The verb baptize is a borrowed word from the Greek baptizo, which means to immerse. But according to the Didache of the Twelve Apostles, pouring water on the head, aka affusion, is an acceptable substitute for immersion. When I was a baby, my parents took me to a chapel to have baptismal water poured on my head upon their profession of faith in the Gospel. By doing that, they were making a solemn promise to evangelize me, and they fulfilled that promise well. Therefore, I was blessed to have received the baptismal rite of infant affusion; and because affusion is an acceptable substitute for immersion, it was not necessary for me to be immersed in baptismal water when I came to believe the Gospel. But at the age of 23, when the opportunity arose for me to be immersed, I took it and I was immersed in baptismal water upon my own profession of faith in the Gospel. That's the baptismal rite of believer's immersion, and I find nothing wrong with receiving both baptismal rites. In fact, I have been doubly blessed to have received both rites from both churches. It has helped me become a uniter of divided Christian peoples.

New Evangelization
Today, an angel in the spiritual realm is holding an eternal evangel which needs to be brought to all who dwell on the earth (Rev. 14:6), both the unbaptized and the baptized. Therefore, it consists of the Gospel of Christ for the unbaptized and a new message of good news for the baptized. The angel says that the hour of God's judgment has come (Rev. 14:7); but that is not the new evangel for the baptized, and I will explain why. The news of God's pending judgment means that God will soon judge Babylon (the unfaithful bride of Christ) and avenge the blood of His servants at her hand (Rev. 18:10, 19:2). His servants are those in the Fifth Seal who are asking Him, "Until when O Master, holy and true, do you not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" (Rev. 6:10) Therefore, the news of God's pending judgment and vengeance is bad news for all who dwell on the earth, both the unbaptized and the baptized. Since it is bad news, it cannot be the new evangel for the baptized.

So, what is the new evangel then? Well, we can find out by examining the servants of God in the Fifth Seal. Since they are under the altar (Rev. 6:10), the place of sacrifice, they either gave up their lives as a sacrifice, like the early Christian martyrs, or they were sacrificed. The fact that they are asking when their blood will be avenged means that they probably did not give up their lives as a sacrifice, because the first two Christian martyrs, Jesus Christ and Stephen, both prayed for their killers to be forgiven just before they died (Luke 23:34, Acts 7:60). After the souls under the altar pray, they are given white robes (Rev. 6:11); and the only other souls in the spiritual realm, who have white robes, are the saints before the enthroned Lamb (Rev. 7:9). Those saints had washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb (Rev. 7:14). Before that, they must have made their robes dirty through personal sin. Therefore, by the time they were old enough to commit personal sin, they must have already had their spiritual robes.

Since the saints before the Lamb received their robes no later than the age of reason, and the souls under the altar receive their robes after they were killed, the latter must have been killed before they reached the age of reason. Since you have to be at the age of reason to give up your life as a sacrifice, the souls under the altar must be young victims of human sacrifices, young enough to have not reached the age of reason. After they receive their robes, they receive the answer to their prayer. Their Master will judge and avenge their blood when their number is fulfilled, which is when the sacrifices have stopped. Therefore. when God stops the sacrifices, He will avenge the blood of the victims (Rev. 6:9:11, 19:2). But because He is merciful and it is not His will for their blood to be avenged upon His children who dwell on the earth, He has made a way for them to participate in stopping the sacrifices, so that they can be clear from the blood of the victims. Therefore, the new evangel is that every Christian is now invited to participate in stopping the unholy sacrifices; those who believe and participate will be clear from the blood of the victims, but those who do not believe will not be clear. [1]

New evangelists know how Christians can participate in stopping the human sacrifices. It is by signing the petition to protect a woman's right to choose life. To believe the new evangel is to not vote for the opponent of anyone who has signed the petition unless the opponent has also signed it. Therefore, if a candidate we dislike has signed the RTCL petition, we should contact the candidate we like, asking them to sign it. If they are contacted in that manner by a large enough number of people to affect the outcome of the election, then they will sign the RTCL petition and we will be able to vote for them in good conscience. Otherwise, we won't be able to vote for them, but it doesn't matter because we aren't affecting the outcome of the election anyway. Those who believe the new evangel and have signed the RTCL petition will be clear from the blood of the sacrificial victims on the day their blood is avenged, but those who do not believe will not be clear. So, the new evangelization parallels the evangelization of Christ (see Table 2).

GO AND BRING
the GOSPEL to [the unbaptized];
a NEW EVANGEL to the baptized;
WHOEVER BELIEVES AND
is baptized will be saved [from their sins],
participates will be clear from the blood of the victims,
BUT WHOEVER DOES NOT BELIEVE
will be condemned [for their sins].
will not be clear.
Table 2- The New Evangelization

Since the baptized gather weekly for worship, the best places to bring the new evangel are places of worship. That's why new evangelists need to meet with the leadership of every church first, in hopes of bringing the new evangel to them and then having it brought to the people they shepherd. Each Friday night, we should randomly select a Gospel-believing place of worship to bring the new evangel to, so that we can attend their worship on the Lord's Day (or the Sabbath if the case may be) and introduce ourselves to their pastor. Then, we should try to meet with their church leadership during the week, before repeating the process on the next Friday night. Progress of the new evangelization is recorded in the table below.
